What do local KidsNet Georgia sites do?
Local KidsNet sites use the system of care approach to correctly identify and link youth and families to appropriate services. The main goal of KidsNet is to 'catch the kids who would otherwise fall through the cracks.' In select instances, KidsNet advocates for and coordinates intensive support services for high-risk youth; working along with a behavioral health provider.
Who does it?
Staff from DHR and DJJ, family members, Juvenile Court, Judges, school teachers, counselors, mental health service providers.
What is the need in Georgia?
About 7.5% or 183,917 Georgia children and youth from birth to age 17 have some form of SED
